Pastor Alexander Spear and Family
Alexander
I am husband to Kristen for 15 years, dad of seven children, lover of classical music, coffee, dad jokes and Star Wars. I love being a dad, including playing games and reading to our kids. I have the privelege of pastoring a growing church since 2015, and now am super excited about gettting to share it with you too. I do not have all the answers, and I am not special just because I am a pastor. I believe the Word of God is the only place we can find the answers we need for our lives, and I put the Bible over any other group or religion, even denominations. There is nothing God cannot do for you, and I can't wait to meet you!
Kristen
Welcome! I am the one you see around town with all of the kids :). I am married to my highschool sweetheart. I am definitey from the south and love just sitting and chatting with folks and hearing their stories. I homeschool the kids and try to live a somewhat "crunchy" lifestyle but by no means do I have it "all together." I fail daily as we all do. But by God's grace are we here. I am also naturally a bit of a geek and love science and psycology. Though I am somewhat of an introvert, God gave me a heart to help others. I am passionate about balance in life in all areas and want others to know they are not alone in life. At church I teach the children and manage our digital content while filling in wherever else is needed. In my free time I enjoy painting, baking, and learning new things.
We are a group of imperfect people that love to serve, love our community, and love learning from God's word to understand his purpose for us today.
This is the most important reason we are here: To share the good news of the Gospel.
We would love to hear from you!
We are informal yet traditional. Everyone is welcome and loved and wewant you to be able to ask questions. We won't call you out in the middle of a service and we almost always have coffee and snacks. All first time guests will receive a gift, even if you don't fill out a card.
Our service will last about an hour. We begin with a general welcome and a time of worship (3-4 songs both hymns and newer worship songs). Our pastor then preaches an expository style message (verse by verse) using only the Bible and explaining what it means and how it applies to us.
We do not have a dress code but you will find that most choose to dress "business casual." However the pastor is definitely not a tie guy :)
We follow the current government guidelines are regarding COVID. Mask wearing is now optional but still encourage distancing, separate our chairs by family and have plenty of sanitizer available. We do ask that anyone feeling unwell please stay home and to get well for the well being of others.
We love kids! We feel that they are a gift. The pastor has seven! The kids are always welcome and we are used to the noise. We have a nursery area if it is needed, but please do not be embarassed to let your kid just be a kid. We love seeing the whole family worship together!

Doctrine of the church is important. We recognize that there are many different denominations in the world and there are things more importantant than others for different people. These are the important things for us. We are a non reformed independent Baptist church. For more information or questions you can send the pastor a message.
The Bible
We believe that the Bible is the Word of God revealed to us and is completed. We believe that it was verbally inspired by God and is inerrant and infallible in 66 books of the Old and New Testament. We believe that God not only inspired the words but has preserved his word through the ages.
God
We believe there is only one God who is eternal, self-existing, infinite and unchanging. We believe that the nature of God, his essence substance has been manifested in the Trinity of God the father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. Each part of the trinity is completely God and yet maintains its distinction and its own form for all eternity.
The Son- Jesus Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ es the only Savior of mankind. We believe that Jesus is eternal and that he possesses all the attributes of deity. We believe that he limited himself to be born of a virgin, became God incarnate with the purpose of revealing God to us and to redeem man, and to reign over his kingdom when He returns. We believe that Jesus did not cease to be God but limited himself in his form as a man. We believe que he lived a perfect life without sin and offered his life por humanity as our substitutionary sacrifice for sin. This sacrifice was the just payment for sin, accepted by God the Father. We believe that Jesus ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father where he awaits the time to receive the church and reign over the earth during the millennium, and then become the center of our adoration for all eternity in the New heaven and Earth.
The Holy Spirit
We believe that the Spirit of God is a persona that has all the attributes of the deity of God. He has always been present since before creation and has a special ministry that began at the time of Pentecost and will continue until the return of Christ. His ministry includes the conviction of sins, revelation of salvation, and to confirm each saint in their own salvation and sanctification.
The “Gifts” and new revelation: the belief of our church is that the gift of tongues and languages, the gift of prophecy and healings have ended for now, but we accept that God can at any moment use these gifts in accordance with His word.
We believe that the tongues were actual understandable languages, not angelic languages and what we see now in the “Charismatic Movement” is not in accordance with the rules of scripture in 1 Corinthians 12-14. For this reason, we do not accept them as actual works of God through the Spirit but rather a misrepresentation of the power of the Holy Spirit.
We believe that new revelation finished with the book of Revelation. New revelation should be compared with the Word of God. God can “reveal” what is in His Word, called illumination, but it will not be a private revelation.
Sin and Salvation
We believe that all man is born with a sin nature received from our ancestor Adam. We believe that due to this nature man is a sinner by his own decision and is completely incapable of salvation or reformation on his own including leaving his sin. For this reason, his or her only hope of salvation es a complete change of mind concerning his condition (repentance) and to turn to Christ as his only Savior and Lord by faith. We believe that only by faith in Christs substitionary death can man receive forgiveness of sin and eternal life.
We believe in the eternal security of salvation because salvation is the work of God, not of man.
We believe that all who reject Jesus as their savior are condemned to the judgment of God and will be separated from God in hell for all eternity with no way of escape.
The New Testament Church
We believe that the church began with the calling of the 12 apostles by Jesus and was empowered on the day of Pentecost. We believe that the local church is the only institution to do the work of God in this age the local church is made up of members that have been saved and baptized in accordance with the words of Christ that voluntarily come together with the purpose of worshipping God, observe the Lord’s Table, and enjoy fellowship with the local body of Christ.
The Lords Table: There are many local bodies or churches, but all who believe in Christ as Savior are part of the church of God (the Bride of Christ). It is important that every local church is governed by their own convictions and leadership. As a church we will only administer the Lord’s Table to members of our local church or those who are visiting from another church short-term. The pastor cannot judge the spiritual condition of another believer outside of the local church, but those within the local body have submitted to the leadership and of their local church to help them judge their spiritual condition.
The Last Days
We believe in the literal interpretation of the Scriptures in their grammatical and historical context. We believe in a pre-millennial return of Christ (We believe that Christ will come for his church before his reign of 1000 years). After these 1000 years will come the Great White throne judgment and the New Heaven and Earth and Jerusalem where God will dwell with his redeemed creation for all eternity. Those that have been judged without Christ will be cast into the Lake of Fire with no future redemption offered to them.
